Whimsical Ceramics & Wearable Art

Recently my husband and I took a mini vacation in honor of our 10yr wedding anniversary. Our travels took us to Fiddleheads in Littleton, New Hampshire where we were introduced to Steven McGovney Designs. What fun he has with both his whimsical ceramic creations as well as unique jewelry pieces! My favorites of course were the artist earrings. I could not take my eyes off these dainty paper earrings adorned with tiny pendants… I wanted every single pair the store carried!  As for my husband? He was quite enamored with the Raven Collection

Personally I like those that wear boots! (click above to view more!) It was quite a treat to meet a new artist and I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next. What do you think?

Weekly Wonders: Summer Dresses

I suppose it was bound to happen… a pin board devoted to dresses that is. Summer is a mere 19 days away if we are going to be precise about it and yet the warmth of such is already here.  Therefore I have been given more than the permission I need to frolic around in beautiful, floral fabrics right?

Creation of a new board started when I was having a bit of fun over at Polyvore and came across the above VIVIENNE WESTWOOD ANGLOMANIA short dress. Immediately I was in love with the bright colors and simple design that made this dress seem like a staple for my Summer wardrobe.  However at $580 I’m going to have to put it to rest for the time being and search out similar floral designs that are more within my $$ range. Thankfully I found OASIS:

Floral Belted Dress $90

Vintage Rose Dress $145

Blue Floral Sundress $36

Placement Floral Dress $90

Oasis Paisley Dress $85

Aren’t these dresses charming? I can’t help but adore the splash of flowers and colors on each and how affordable they are too. For a limited time it appears that you can save even more with the following code:

How cool is that?  Have fun shopping!

Weekly Wonders

*Shoetopia & Urban Crochet*

Well this week went by in a flash but I’m not complaining. Rain makes for a moody Sassy and with the sun peeking out today and promise of no rain for my Lion Run tomorrow I’m feeling pretty darn excited.

Throughout the week I have been dreaming about Summer and all clothes relating to such. With all the bright colors and prints that made their debut this Spring I’ve been hoping for an even bigger splash of color to trend for Summer sandals. You won’t see me disappointed by what is popping up and so I’m sharing my faves:

Weekly Wonders

I’ve been wanting to put together a feature that showcases all of the wonderful finds I’ve encountered throughout the week. I realize that I could simply tap into my obsession with pinterest and find a suitable board for housing these treasures but I didn’t think that would suffice. So with that I bring you my Weekly Wonders and will create a new list of delightful finds each and every Friday. Enjoy!

Pressed flowers used in any creation are divine. This Red & Cream Roses bangle caught my eye while I was exploring Etsy and I thought it could make a great gift for any special chica in your life.  Spotted Dog Farm is one of my new favorite boutiques!

While I was creating a Coachella pinboard for ThreadsenceI couldn’t help but give in to all of the items in their Aztec Empire collection.  Suddenly I was searching for all things fringe. This trend is popping up everywhere for Summer essentials too and I love it.

Circle scarves are one of my favorite accessories. They are simple in nature but still have the ability to transform an outfit. Thanks to another wonderful tutorial from A Beautiful Mess I can now create a unique scarf by way of resist dying. (aka tie-dyeing) Just yesterday I was throwing out ideas for an afternoon Summer craft party and decided that tie-dying maxi dresses + creating the perfect sundae should be placed on the calendar pronto!

Thanks to the Sephora Color Wash Contest I’ve discovered a new fascination with yellow. Now that Spring has sprung and thoughts of Summer are swirling around in my head, I’ve been so in love with the sun.  This prompted me to choose the color yellow as my focus for the contest board and it has been so fun putting it together. Try doing a search on your favorite color through pinterest if you haven’t already… the finds are out of this world!
